Neville Goddard’s Teacher Abdullah: Original Copyright Cards for Abdullah’s Books

Note: Due to numerous inquiries about Ab’s books, please note that a retrieval request was submitted to the Library of Congress six weeks ago. The standard administrative processing timeline for locating early 20th-century deposits is approximately ten weeks or more. Once the files are located, we will receive the official invoice for duplication and retrieval costs, and updates will be posted here.

We know how exhausting it can be to wade through the dense Abdullah research we did. If you are a visual learner, we wanted to make this as easy as possible if you decide to read through the research later.

Looking at these documents side-by-side is one of the clearest visual ways to see this clearly and compare the names and see that they are same person.

The original copyright cards for Abdullah’s books finally arrived from the US Copyright Office. So, finally we can make this easier.

To start off, Neville Goddard placed his teacher, Abdullah, in two locations:

In Atlantic City

“My friend Abdullah once said to me that this elderly lady…he was an old, old gentleman and he was in Atlantic City…and someone told her that he could do something to a man in her neighborhood and destroy him. So she came and offered Ab $300. Ab said, “My dear, whoever advised you this way is silly. God is love, just love. First of all, if I had that power I wouldn’t use it, not in that direction, and secondly, it isn’t.” Well, he went all the way down in her estimation. She went right next door to a phony of phonies…but this one next door knew Ab, he was a neighbor, and she gave the $300 and he took it.” – Neville Goddard, “I AM in You” (1968) the original transcribed lecture with Q&A is here.

At 30 West 72nd Street, New York City

“Well, that did not make sense to me. I am standing in his place on 72nd Street, off Central Park West; that’s where he lived. He lived at 30 West 72nd Street. And here I am in his place, and he’s telling me that I am in Barbados! He didn’t explain what he meant.” — Neville Goddard, “Gift Bestowed by God” (1971)

Below are the copyright applications we just got in the mail from copyright.gov filed by Abdullah. The early book filings place him in Atlantic City (we had to order the search as they were not digitalized), and the later music filings (are digitalized online) place him 30 West 72nd Street.

G. Mahmud Ahmad Abdoullah (Used as the author/translator)
